Boccia Dried Lentils, 500g

Description

Dried green lentils are a pantry staple for any keen cook. Rich in fibre and protein, they’re a great addition to plant-based and flexitarian diets. You can eat them hot or cold in salads, soups and braised dishes.

These Italian lentils have an earthy, peppery flavour. Use them to make a rich ragu for vegetarian lasagne or moussaka. They’re great in curries or simply added to seasonal salads.

For an easy side dish, braise the lentils with onions, garlic, carrots, red wine and stock. You can add pancetta and fresh herbs, too. Once cooked, serve the flavour-packed lentils with roast chicken, monkfish or sausages. Scoop up any leftovers with crusty bread the next day.

The lentils should be rinsed before cooking but there’s no need to soak. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20-30 minutes.

Store in a cool dry place.
