Cherry Rocher Canneles With Cognac and Orange, 410g

Description

Cannelés are a small, sweet cake with a golden, caramelised crust. A speciality of Bordeaux in southern France, they are baked at a high heat in a ridged pan which gives them their distinctive fluted shape and crisp exterior. Inside, they have a moist, almost custard-like texture.

Cherry Rocher’s cannelés are made to a traditional recipe and then steeped in cognac flavoured with orange. The cognac-spiked syrup gives the cakes a sweet, boozy undertone with just a hint of citrus. Serve these bite-sized French cakes after dinner with coffee, tangy crème fraîche or a dollop of Chantilly cream.
