Cool Chile Co Salsa Macha, 150g

Description

Cool Chile Co’s salsa macha is a unique Mexican condiment with a spicy, nutty flavour. Often used as a topping or garnish, it’s made with chillies, nuts, seeds and garlic toasted in a blend of sunflower and olive oil until crisp. Try adding it to nachos, fresh salsa or mix with butter to baste grilled prawns.

This condiment has its roots in Veracruz, home of the smoky chipotle chilli. It is medium-hot with a rich, nutty flavour and a hint of mellow garlic. Stir well before serving and spoon it over tostadas, huevos rancheros and grilled meat and fish. You can add it to marinades, shake it with oil for a spicy salad dressing or swirl it through sour cream as a spicy dip for potato wedges.

Dodie Miller, founder of Cool Chile Co, believes that there are certain warm, earthy flavours and smells that instantly transport you to Mexico. Whether it's salsas and sauces made with toasted dried chillies, tortillas fresh from the comal, Mexican oregano rubbed over pozole, or black beans bubbling in a pot with epazote, these are the tastes and spice sensations that they want to bring into your home.
