Filotea Calamarata Durum Wheat Semolina Pasta, 500g

Description

Calamarata is a wide, tube-shaped pasta from Campania. It’s shaped like thick squid rings, which is how it got its name. In Italy, it’s used for all kinds of fish and seafood pasta dishes.

Despite its thickness, calamarata pasta is light and tender when it’s cooked. Serve it with a seafood sauce flavoured with tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Add squid, mussels and prawns for a dish that will transport you to the Amalfi coast.

Filotea pasta is slow dried and bronze drawn. This process gives it a rough, porous texture that helps sauces to cling. Once cooked, it has a silky mouthfeel with a little bite, just like fresh pasta.

Durum wheat pasta is firmer than egg pasta and has a subtle nutty flavour. It’s ideal for vegans and anyone avoiding eggs.
