Filotea Strozzapreti Durum Wheat Semolina Pasta, 500g

Description

Strozzapreti is a twisted pasta shape that’s popular in northern Italy. Its name translates to ‘priest strangler’. According to food legend, greedy priests ate the pasta so quickly they choked. A reminder to all of us to take our time and savour every bite!

Strozzapreti is great with all kinds of sauces, from creamy mushroom to fiery arrabiata. Try tossing the pasta with a rich ragu made with fennel and Italian sausage. Any leftovers make a delicious pasta bake.

Filotea pasta is slow dried and bronze drawn. This process gives it a rough, porous texture that helps sauces to cling. Once cooked, it has a silky mouthfeel with a little bite, just like fresh pasta.

Durum wheat pasta is firmer than egg pasta and has a subtle nutty flavour. It’s ideal for vegans and anyone avoiding eggs.

Cooking time: 13-15 minutes

Store in a cool, dry place.
