Fried Dace with Salted Black Bean, 184g
Description
Fried dace with salted black beans is a Cantonese delicacy. Usually sold in tins, it’s a combination of fried dace (also known as mud carp) and black soybeans. It’s rich in umami with a salty, savoury flavour. The beans give it a subtle smokiness.
In China, fried dace is eaten straight from the tin or with steamed rice. It’s a popular condiment for congee, a type of savoury rice porridge.
Fried dace is also used to flavour vegetable dishes. Try adding a small amount to stir fried gai lan (Chinese broccoli) or green beans. The flavour works particularly well with leafy green vegetables.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.
Ingredients: Fish (dace) (48.91%), soybean oil (25.54%), black beans (black soybean, water, salt)(21.2%), water, sugar, spices, soy sauce (water, soybean, salt, wheat (gluten), flour), flavour enhancer (e621), salt
