Goya Pinto Beans, 439g

Description

Pinto beans are a staple ingredient in Latin American cuisine. They originated in Mexico and Peru over 5,000 years ago. The name ‘pinto’ comes from the Spanish word for ‘speckled’ - a reference to their mottled colour. The beans have a creamy texture and mellow, earthy flavour.

Use pinto beans to make frijoles refritos, or refried beans. You can also add the beans to soups, tacos, burritos and chilli con carne. Their nutty flavour pairs well with garlic, chilli and earthy spices. The beans are delicious hot or served cold in a bean salad.

Pinto beans are a great way to add plant-based protein to your diet. They’re rich in fibre and extremely versatile. Keep a can in your pantry to make dips, quesadillas and bean burgers.
