Grand Rubren Organic Absinth 55%ABV, 700ml
UK age verified delivery £7
Description
This organic absinthe has a powerful aniseed flavour. It’s naturally macerated and then distilled to create a uniquely aromatic spirit. Absinthe is bright green in colour, earning it the nickname ‘the green fairy’.
Absinthe is typically diluted with six times its volume of water. You can also use an absinthe spoon to pour water over a sugar cube above the absinthe. The sweetened water tempers its strong anise flavour. Absinthe enthusiasts also drink it on the rocks as a digestif.
Absinthe was a popular tipple for writers and poets in 19th century Paris. Famous absinthe drinkers include Ernest Hemingway, Lewis Carroll and Oscar Wilde. Hemingway is credited as the inventor of the classic cocktail, Death in the Afternoon. It combines absinthe and Champagne to make a potent, sparkling drink.
