Illa de Riu Bahia Rice, 1kg

Description

Bahia rice is a round, short-grain rice that is used to make paella and other Spanish rice dishes. It’s a great alternative to Bomba rice as it has a shorter cooking time and requires less attention while it cooks. The grains absorb a large amount of liquid, causing them to double in size and soak up the flavours of your broth or stock. Once cooked, the rice has a smooth and creamy consistency whilst still preserving the firmness of the grain.

Bahia rice is considered to be one of the best rice varieties available in Spain. In addition to paella, it’s also used in dry (seco) rice dishes and soupy rice dishes known as arroz caldoso. The latter is usually made with fresh seafood and an intense fish stock flavoured with saffron and sweet paprika. It’s a wonderful dish to share with family and friends.

Ingredients: Bahía rice (oryza sativa japonica)
