Maison Bremond Organic Navettes Cakes By Pierre Herme, 240g

Description

Maison Bremond organic Navettes cakes are a traditional biscuit from Provence. These biscuits are made using a traditional recipe reinvented by Pierre Herme, who created a melt-in-the-mouth buttery biscuit gently flavoured with orange blossom. These biscuits are made with butter and ground almonds from a rich, nutty biscuit with a light, delicate texture.

‘Navettes’ are distinguished by their boat shape and were created in 1781 by Mr Averyous, who firsted baked them to aid telling the story of the Sainte Maries (‘3 Mary’s) arriving in Marseilles. These biscuits are traditionally bought by the dozen as it is thought to bring good luck for the 12 months of the year.

Enjoy one of these biscuits with a cup of freshly ground coffee as an afternoon pick me up, or use them in recipes - crush and combine with more butter for an indulgent cheesecake base or sprinkle over pistachio ice cream for a simple and delicious dessert.
