Master Cook Katsu Curry Meal Kit, 350ml

Description

Enjoy Japanese comfort food in record time with the Master Cook katsu curry meal kit. Katsu is a fried cutlet, usually made with pork or chicken. In Japan, the crispy cutlets are served with white rice and a mild curry sauce.

The kit includes panko breadcrumbs, Japanese curry sauce and a tangy salad dressing. With easy-to-follow instructions, you can have dinner on the table in under 20 minutes.

How to prepare your katsu curry:

  1. Dip flattened pork or chicken in beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumbs. Make sure the meat is evenly covered, pressing down on the crumbs to make them stick.
  2. Shallow fry the cutlet in oil until golden and cooked through. Flip it over to ensure it's evenly cooked and brown on both sides.
  3. Drain on kitchen paper while you heat the sauce in a pan.
  4. To serve, slice your katsu and place it on top of cooked rice. Pour over the hot curry sauce and add a small side salad drizzled with the dressing.

Garnish your katsu curry with shredded spring onions. In Japan, it’s often served with tsukemono (pickles) to offset the richness of the sauce.

Each Master Cook meal kit serves two people.
