Michele Portoghese Strozzapreti, 500g

Description

Strozzapreti is a unique pasta shape from northern Italy. Its name means ‘priest strangler’. Legend has it that hungry priests would eat it so fast that they choked. True or not, it’s a fun fact to share at the dinner table!

In Emilia Romagna, strozzapreti is often served with a creamy mushroom sauce. Use dried porcini and a splash of Marsala to add depth of flavour. You can also serve it with ragu alla bolognese, simmered slowly until it's rich and delicious. Any leftovers can be turned into a pasta bake.

Michele Portoghese uses traditional pasta making methods passed down through generations. Extruded through bronze and slowly dried, their pasta has a slightly rough texture. This helps sauces to cling to the surface, so each bite is as delicious as the last.
