Once harvested, the grains keep their outer bran layer, which gives the rice a nutty flavour and wholesome texture. The brown rice is a great accompaniment to all sorts of Indian curries, try it with Chicken dhansak, spicy Bhut jolokia lamb rogan josh, or with Jewish Penicillin.
