Description
Use neri ume umeboshi plum paste as a filling for onigiri or maki sushi rolls, or mix with other ingredients like soy sauce and mirin to customise a sashimi dipping sauce. Neri ume is a thick paste made from pickled Japanese plums – also known as Chinese plums, Japanese apricots, or umeboshi. The paste is rich, sour and salty, and is one of Japan’s most loved flavours. You can even use the plum paste in sour cocktails– mix with shochu or sake and sparkling water for a refreshing Japanese inspired cocktail.
Ingredients: salted ume (Japanese apricot [75%), salted perilla (perilla frutescens), fruit puree (peach, apple,) sugar, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated starch syrup, acid: E330, flavourings, alcohol, thickeners: E415, E412, artificial flavourings.
