Organic Ume & Sesame Furikake, 30g
Description
Sprinkle organic ume and sesame furikake over seared scallops, steamed rice and Asian salads. Furikake is a Japanese condiment, traditionally made with dried fish, sesame seeds and seaweed. In this version, the sweet-sour taste of ume (Japanese plum) adds a bright, fruity note to the rich, nutty flavour of roasted sesame seeds. The result is a complex, umami-rich seasoning that’s perfect for sushi and onigiri (rice balls).
This furikake blend has a touch of fruity acidity and the nutty flavour of sesame seeds. Scatter it over ceviche and carpaccio to add complexity and a Japanese twist. It’s also delicious on top of tempura squid, stir-fried greens and even popcorn.
Furikake is a dry Japanese condiment that is typically used to season rice. It’s usually added at the end of cooking, often sprinkled over steamed rice and meat and seafood dishes. This versatile seasoning mix can also be used in marinades, salad dressings, breads and crackers.
