Sushi rice is known for its round, pearly grains. For best results, cook it using the absorption method with a 1:1 ratio of rice to water. Once cooked, season the rice with sushi vinegar or rice vinegar.

You can serve sushi rice as a side dish for Japanese meals. It’s great with teriyaki chicken and agedashi tofu. Use small bowls to shape the rice into little domes, like they do in restaurants. Top your rice dome with toasted sesame seeds or furikake.
