Terre Exotique Crushed Ancho Chilli Pepper, 45g

Description

Sprinkle crushed ancho chilli over tacos and tostadas. The dark flakes have a fruity flavour and mild heat. They’re made from crushed and dried poblano chilli peppers. 

Ancho chilli is a popular ingredient in Mexican cuisine. It adds warmth and depth to chilli con carne and mole sauces. The spice level is mild so it won’t overwhelm the other flavours in your dish.

Add a pinch of ancho chilli flakes to salsa and queso fundido. It’s delicious in marinades for grilled meat and fish. The warm, earthy flavour works well in Mexican soups and stews, like birria. Try toasting the crushed chilli flakes in a hot pan before adding them to your dish.

For desserts with a difference, sprinkle ancho chilli over pineapple or chocolate truffles. Or, grind it to a fine powder to add fruity heat to chocolate brownies.
