Ultimate Knife Stone (Whetstone) - 1000/3000 Combination Super Stone
Description
Use the 1000/3000 combination super stone to give your kitchen knives the sharpest edge. Many of us don’t realise how blunt our knives are – but after a sharpening on this stone you’ll wonder how you ever managed!
Start by soaking the stone in water for 5-10 minutes, or until no more bubbles appear. Place the stone on a non-slip surface with the red side of the stone facing up – this has 1000 grains per square centimetre, and will do the initial sharpening of your blade. Move the knife back and forth across the stone at an angle of 10-15°, applying light pressure.
Flip the stone over, and finish off with the same action on the yellow side. This has 3000 grains per square centimetre, and will give your knife its silky smooth, razor sharp edge. Apply water to the stone throughout sharpening for the best results.
Combination sharpening stones may separate if they are left in water for extended periods of time. A few spots of superglue are all that’s needed to put it back together.
Not suitable for ceramic knives. Not dishwasher safe – hand wash only with a toothbrush and mild detergent. Allow to dry thoroughly before storing in a dry place in its box. An occasional light sand with fine sandpaper will maintain the surface.
