Umami Sshirafuji Japanese Ancient Rice, 300g

Description

Shirafuji rice is an ancient Japanese rice dating back to the Edo period. Originally used for sake production, it is now used to make delicious rice dishes. It has a distinctive flavour because it is rarely crossed with other rice varieties.

Before cooking, rinse the rice several times and drain. Cook it in a saucepan with the lid on. Turn off the heat 3-5 minutes after the water starts boiling. If water remains, boil for a little longer. You can also use a rice cooker.

Shirafuji rice is suitable for all kinds of rice dishes, including donburi and bibimbap. You can season it with Japanese vinegar to add subtle tang.

Try serving shirafuji rice with teriyaki chicken, katsu curry and other saucy dishes. The delicate grains will soak up the flavours of your dish.

Store in a cool, dry place.
