Clearspring Organic Tofu, 300g

Description

Clearspring organic tofu is as close to fresh tofu as you can get from your cupboard. The rich, silky smooth tofu is made with organic soybeans, spring water from Mount Fuji and a coagulating agent called nigari, obtained from sea water.

Clearspring organic tofu is a firm tofu. So, although it is very smooth and soft, it will hold its shape if handled gently. Simply drain the liquid from the box and pat the surface with clean kitchen towel before using.

Add small cubes straight into miso soups or salads. Cut the tofu into quarters, coat lightly in potato starch, and fry to make agedashi tofu.

Roughly cut the organic tofu into chunks and add to a stir fry, then mix vigorously into the rest of your ingredients with a spatula. The tofu will take on a scrambled-egg consistency, and is a great meat alternative in vegetarian or vegan stir-fries.

When tofu tastes this fresh, it even works in sweet dishes. Mash or blend the silken tofu with a drizzle of agave syrup, maple syrup or honey to make a sweet ‘mousse’. Mix into pure nut paste or add a touch of freeze-dried fruit powder for extra flavour, then top like you would ice cream!

Ingredients: water, organic soya beans (26%), firming agent: nigari (magnesium chloride). Contains allergens: soya.
