Olio Guglielmi Organic IGP Puglia Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 500ml

Description

Guglielmi’s Olio di Puglia IGP is an organic extra virgin olive oil produced in southern Italy. It is made from Ogliarola olives which are native to the area where Olio Guglielmi’s olive trees are grown. The medium-intense flavour is perfect for drizzling over grilled fish and salads with roasted peppers and shavings of Pecorino cheese.

To make this premium olive oil, the Guglielmi family uses specially selected olives which are pressed at low temperatures soon after they are picked. This preserves their flavour and gives the oil a unique aroma reminiscent of herbs, artichoke and tomato. On the palate, the oil has a smooth, rounded flavour with notes of almond and jasmine. Drizzle it over freshly baked focaccia or Pugliese pasta dishes like orecchiette with cime di rapa (also known as turnip tops or broccoli rabe).

IGP stands for Indicazione Geografica Protetta (Protected Geographical Indication), a mark of origin assigned to products of a certain quality or reputation dependent on their geographical origin. In simple terms, it means that this oil is produced in Puglia to the very highest standard using locally grown olives.
