Terre Exotique’s Viking smoke salt adds an intense, wood-smoke flavour to roast potatoes, sides of salmon and cheese souffles. Traditionally, Vikings would take sea water and smoke over open flames, leaving behind pungent salt crystals. Nowadays, the smoked salt is enhanced with curry powder, onions and pepper to produce the powerful flavours. 

Try rubbing this Nordic smoked salt into steaks before searing, sprinkling over cherry tomatoes before roasting, or use it as a finishing salt for Bloody Mary cocktails, potato gratins and fish pies.

Terre Exotique works directly with hundreds of specialist farmers and producers around the world – to bring the very best peppers, spices and salts to our tables. The company was founded by Erwann de Kerros, a Breton and seasoned traveller. After tasting pepper in the Penja plantation in Cameroon, Kerros yearned to try other specialist peppers and spices – and Terre Exotique was born.
