Description

Violetto artichoke hearts have a delicate, slightly sweet flavour. They’re preserved in Frantoi Cutrera’s Sicilian extra virgin olive oil. A splash of vinegar adds subtle tang. You can also detect a hint of chilli and the cooling notes of fresh mint. 

The artichoke hearts are prepared using an age-old family recipe. They are blanched in water and vinegar before being covered in olive oil.

Purple artichoke hearts are prized for their firm, fleshy texture. Add them to a grazing platter with Italian cheese, olives and charcuterie. They can be chopped or sliced to add to salads and sandwiches.

We like to use artichoke hearts as a bruschetta topping. Rub the bread with garlic before arranging the hearts on top. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil from the jar.
